Born on December 24, 1960.
Graduated from Moscow Communication Institute in 1983.
Has been collecting works of modern art and staging exhibitions since 1988.
Set up one of the Moscow's first private modern art galleries (Malaya Polyanka 7/7, building 5) in 1990.
Opened a gallery in Kiev in 2001.

Marat Guelman has become something more than just a human being, he is already a myth. An image has overshadowed a man. What is he? A collector? A political technologist? A man of art or a logical machine, capable of winning elections for its clientele? He used to become professional in every new field, having started from nothing. Being successful in totally different kinds of activity is always capturing attention and bringing up the question: how does he manage of being this?
